Sailor Spotlight — Seaman Jennifer Barajas

Seaman Jennifer Barajas, from Orange County, California, communicates with staff from USNS Charles Drew (T-AKE 10) using a phone and distance (PND) line on the bridge of Navy’s forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), during a vertical replenishment-at-sea. PND lines are used for bridge-to-bridge communication and allow ships’ crews to track the distance between ships.

Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
