While the weather may not be complying, spring is right around the corner. And if Orion’s winter interview season is any indication, spring will be a great time for Veterans to find a civilian career. Orion, the nation’s largest military career placement firm, held eight Hiring Conferences in January 2017, spanning the country from San Diego, CA, to Dallas, TX; to Parsippany, NJ. These exclusive, invitation-only conferences hosted candidates attending private interviews with more than 130 companies, including outstanding Orion clients like BASF, Honda, and Wrigley.
February 2017 presented six opportunities for veteran candidates to interview with hiring managers at an Orion Hiring Conference. With 90+ clients in attendance at conferences from Philadelphia, PA; to Portland, OR; and beyond, Orion is pleased to have matched JMOs, Enlisted Technicians, and NCOs for interviews with client companies like Lutron, Siemens, and Ardagh.
To date, these conferences have resulted in more than 180 veterans finding new careers, with many more to follow. Upcoming Hiring Conferences will be held across the country in cities like Atlanta, GA; Orlando, FL; Denver, CO; and Chicago, IL over the next few months.
A highlight of the first half of March has been Orion’s Distinguished Candidate Conference in Dallas, TX, which featured Keynote Speaker, Art Hartman, USMA grad, former Army Field Artillery Officer, and Senior Military Relations Officer at Stryker. Companies like Stryker, Samsung, Georgia-Pacific, and Honeywell attended the DCC. These clients interviewed candidates including Military Service Academy graduates, veterans with Masters degree or other advanced education; and transitioning Officers that consistently ranked above their peers in OERs.
“Our Q1 hiring events have been exceptionally strong for two key reasons. First, above and beyond all the macroeconomic indicators we’ve been reading indicating the economy is gaining steam, we’ve seen a real upturn in demand from companies across several industries and regions,” explains Todd Phillips, Orion Senior Vice President – Recruiting,
“Second, our recruiting teams nationally have done a phenomenal job building outstanding pools of technical and leadership talent in support of these events in the first quarter. If the events in January, February and early March are any indication, we are poised for a record year in 2017.”
With more than 75 Hiring Conferences a year in cities throughout the nation, an Orion Hiring Conference is an excellent opportunity to interview with several companies in one place. And, as always, all of Orion’s job seeker services are completely FREE of charge. Visit us online to learn more about finding your next career at an Orion Hiring Conference.
