Military MOJO wrapped up another successful, highly attended career event in Washington DC in September. Arriving from all across the country, over 70 employers and 350 job-seeking veterans, transitioning military and military spouses got together for two full days of engagement. The first day was packed full of information sessions hosted by various employers sharing their company mission, purpose, experiences, what they look for in future hires, and was highlighted with a panel discussion driven by questions from those in transition. The career fair took place on the second day and the energy in the room was visible the entire day. With employers actively looking for their next hire, and veterans searching for their next career, connecting together created a constant buzz in the room.
Tom Howes (USA), from Team MOJO spent both days working individually with veterans on their resumes, interviewing skills, and other questions around their transition. Tom’s careers in both the Army and corporate America give him a wealth of knowledge to share with the candidates in a fun, sharing style that everyone enjoys.
To capitalize on the great conversations being held in the Career Fair, employers were conducting in depth interviews during the event with hiring managers. By the end of the day, many employers were ready to make offers to the candidates to join them!
